Learn what climate-related challenges the Capital Region faces presently and in the future. Together we will ideate, test and develop biotechnology based solutions that focus on sustainability.
We will explore different biological organisms that produce polyhydroxybutyrate (PHB) - a bio-plastic. By feeding these organisms different types of agricultural waste, readily available in our region, we will explore how innovation can be sustainability focused, and grounded in solving local challenges.
Together we will explore the potential of utilizing these organisms to produce PHB and brainstorm how best to utilize PHB-made products.
Utilizing precision manufacturing techniques, we will build prototypes out of PHB and test the biodegradability of PHB built products.
