The NextGenBio project

strengthens the Capital Region’s capacity to build an inclusive, future-facing biotechnology economy by investing in local students and educators through immersive, hands-on learning experiences. The focus is on high school and community college students—specifically 50 students and 10 educators—from communities that have historically been excluded from the region’s innovation economy. Through this program, participants will explore how biotechnology, AI, and precision manufacturing can be used to address some of the most pressing challenges facing their families and neighborhoods: climate change, sustainable agriculture, access to healthcare, and renewable materials.
